Christmas So Far

Christmas has been great so far. Jackson's first Christmas Eve consisted of pulling ornaments off the tree (again and again), Little Ceasars Pizza and It's A Wonderful Life on NBC.
Christmas morning was pretty mellow- Jackson played with the bows and wrapping paper but seemed confused about what was going on. We opened gifts (Ralph and I got awesome hats and shirts that make us feel like we could hang with Leonard and Sheldon!) and went to church. Our congregation read passages from Luke 2 and The Living Christ and sang almost all the Christmas Hymns. We enjoyed that very much. Now we are in a lull while the turkey cooks and Ralph's family drives to get here. Hope everyone's having a wonderful Christmas. (oh and we decorated our dinner table all pretty for a fancy Christmas meal- basically because I've been addicted to Pinterest lately and set it yesterday).

Crazy Kid

First off the picture just shows that Jackson and houseplants don't mix. They got in an altercation and Jackson won. Second- just a note- Jackson pooped in the tub for the first time on Sunday- pretty funny.

A Week With April

We got to spend the week with Ralph's Sister's daughter April. We also watched a nieghbors dog, Boo. They kept eachother company for several hours.

Santa Claus

Jackson love Santa already!

Library Halloween Day

Jackson makes a very cute pumpkin. He turn a bunch of heads at the library for story time. It was Halloween costume day. Jackson crawls everywhere very fast now and also has been doing lots of new things lately: he plays with the door stops all the time now, he can pull himself up to standing as long as he has something to hold onto, he learned to open up the lower kitchen cupboards (uh oh), he learned to open the glass doors on my entertainment center, he can push my guitars off their stands and he can now crawl up under our coffee table---- We are in TROUBLE here!!!!

Price Family Vacation 2011

We recently returned from Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. We flew in through
SLC which made it possible to have wonderful visits with Great Grandparents Tanner and Great Grandpa Hunt, Jolene, Jennifer, Daniel, Cami and Shawn, Aunt Lisa and Uncle Shawn as well as a great get together of Tanner-side cousins. A happy coincidence occurred as our trip overlapped with Utah visits of my parents and Melissa, Andy, Jessica and baby Dean, it was quite a get together.

We drove up through Blackfoot and I got to show off Grandpa and Grandma's house (we got to get out and swing in the backyard). Ralph go to show off many of the places he lived and worked on his mission in Sugar City and Jackson Hole.
We of course got to see Old Faithful and a funny thing happened there. Some back story- The day before was very sunny so Jackson wore his sunglasses (which I was amazed he didn't touch and left on his face) and we got comments from almost every person we passed on them. The next day at Old Faithful was really cold so J was all bundled up. A couple of people commented on how cute he was and then asked "He isn't the little boy with the sunglasses is he?" Jackson had become something of a celebrity in Yellowstone (much like the animals everyone stops in the road to see).
We got to stay in Mammoth Hot Springs Inn where a bull elk and his harem grazed outside our window. We also spotted deer, moosen and plenty of buffalo (Ralph won our animal spying contest). A funny thing happen while I was driving- We crossed several hikes that were closed due to bear activity and it also had been raining- I could swear I was hearing a grumbling, rumbling, roaring of a bear in the close distance. I was a little freaked out as I told Ralph "I hear a bear! and it'a Angry!" As soon as I said it I realized the windshield wipers were still on, even though it had stopped raining and had begun to make strange scraping noises. So that was our joke the rest of the trip "I hear a bear and it's angry" (its almost as good a the van is buffalo mishap of years ago).
Our trip ended with trip back to BYU. (It was interesting to think with all the time we have both spent there- it was our first time knowingly being on Campus together). We attended a great alumni dinner for the Chemical Engineering department, ate at JDawgs new indoor location, shopped the bookstore and scored big on a summer camps T-shirt sale.

Houston Astros

We went with some friends to

the Astros vs Cardinals. Jackson and I ended up walking around nearly the whole game near the food stands because every time the crowd cheered Jackson cried. He especially disliked the vendors who yelled "PEANUTS, POPCORN, CRACKERJACKS"- as he screamed and bawled each time they went by. We did end up meeting Junction Jack as seen here. And the Astros went on to win in an exciting extra 10th inning.

First Tooth

Jackson got his first tooth last week. Lots of drool and only a little crankyness and then a tooth appeared (bottom left tooth). I couldn't get Jackson to stay still or keep his mouth open long enough to show off his cute little tooth!

Jackson and Hadley

Jackson and I have been watching Miss Hadley on Mondays and for a few hours on Wednesday and Thursday. We have been having a much better time together lately- now that Hadley is a little more used to playing with us. She has been teaching him to yell loudly and encouraging him to crawl. He has been worming all around the living room lately and he can get pretty far. (I'll have to figure out how to post movies so i can share it). Here is the two of them in a happier moment.

Ralph's Big Ride

We spent the weekend of the 10th in Oklahoma for the Pryor Dam Jam (a 100 mile bike "race"). Ralph pedalled his way through some beautiful terrain in NE OK and the day was beautiful!

Yoga Baby

Jackson is getting ready to crawl and has been showing off how strong he is. He is sitting up on his own very well and in his attempts to crawl has been pushing himself all over the room..... backwards.... not exactly what he was wanting.

WORST DAY EVER

I don't have any pictures for this one- sorry. The saying goes an apple a day keeps the doctor away, therefore we are going to buy at least 9,125 apples so that I never have to take a sick Jackson to the doctor's office ever again. Thursday we took J in after he had a temperature for 2 days. (He weighed in at 17 lbs 3 oz) His temperature at the doctor was 103.6- but the doctor couldn't see anything wrong with him, so he ordered a urine sample and blood draw to check things out. So poor Jackson had to endure 2 catheters to extract the pee they needed and 3 needle sticks to try to get the blood (which they ended up doing the heel stick anyways- and it 25 minutes to catch all the blood drop by drop). They ended up calling us to say one of the test they hadn't gotten enough blood for.... I told them we would have to do without it cause i wasn't taking him again. The whole thing took 4 and a half hours just to find nothing wrong with him. He's finally fever free and playing like normal today! Long story short, we will go in for well child visits to get our vaccine shots (which must feel like nothing compared to what he had to go though this week), but we are staying home next time we are sick.

Craft Projects

I've been a little out of control- everytime I go to the store I find more projects to do. This week I've actually made some headway on them. Sorry to Melissa who will be seeing presents on here. You can pretend you are surprised.

CARROTS- Enough Said

Friday, July 22, 2011

Jackson enjoyed watching Robin Hood steal from the rich to give to the poor. That and he likes to play naked (no diaper rash for this baby)! I'm surprised how much he really understands- although I think he mostly likes all the colors moving. We have been watching in 5 to 10 minute installments because he gets distracted quickly.
In other news- I'm on a 3 day cycle.
Day ONE- I've been crafting up a storm(blankets, taggies, knitting squares, painting orchids for our bathroom, and working on our cookbook)
Day TWO- Cleaning my mess- dirty dishes, craft junk, endless laundry.
Day Three- DOING NOTHING- while feeling guilty and lazy about doing nothing.
Then it all starts again. I guess I can feel happy with the fact that 66% of the time I'm doing something.

Clean Carpets and Swag

Jackson has been a great little mover lately. Rolling and turning in circles- he can get pretty far (no leaving him anywhere but the floor if I'm walking away now). Other new things- I was called into the Young Women's again as the Beehive Advisor and I love the girls. We went on our second date in Texas on Friday- Transformers 3 and dinner. We have started switching off watching little Hadley for watching Jackson ever other week with a couple down the street so that we can go on at least 2 dates a month (one to the temple and one out for entertainment) and keep our costs down.
Other nerdy exciting things in life:
1st- Swagbucks- Thank you Melissa for introducing me. Basically you join, browse the Internet, win swag bucks and cash in for sweet rewards. So far I've recieved $15 to amazon.com and I'm almost up to $10 more. I used my rewards towards my....
2nd- Carpet Cleaner- All the gross stains the former owners left in the carpets are basically gone. For sure my mom will remember the really dark stain in the bedroom carpet- I blasted that out tonight and it felt great. I'm such a dork. Sorry if my post is a little boring today.
3rd- Neighborhood Ladies- I've been doing alot with the neighborhood ladies lately (before they all leave or go on vacation). Walked the mall and world market, went out to Thai food, and many trips to the pool. Its kind of fun.
